2025 Regional Talent ID Camp: Utah

City: Salt Lake City
Date: 7/12/2025 - 7/12/2025
State: UT

WHO:

Players ages 14-19 of all genders who are interested in taking their skills to the next level with instruction from a U.S. National Team coach, especially those who are interested in potentially trying out for a National Team (open, woman/girl-matching, or mixed).  While the camp format will be primarily mixed gender, if there are enough registrants of different genders, campers will be divided up into similar gender groups for some periods of time.

Note: To be eligible to try out for the 2026 World Junior Ultimate Championships (WJUC) in the upcoming tryout cycle, athletes must be at least 14 years old and not yet 20 years old on December 31, 2026. But that max age requirement is not enforced for attending this camp, as it still provides any young player with a beneficial skills development opportunity.

WHAT:

Hosted by Utah Ultimate Disc Association, and operated by U.S. National Team Coach Martin Aguilera, this full day Talent ID camp is designed to give attendees insight and experience in the skills, tactics and challenges employed at U20 National Team tryouts. It will be an opportunity for players to receive a better understanding of their own skills, where they can improve, learning from other players and new coaches, along with a glimpse into U.S. National Team culture and tryout processes. While the format will be primarily mixed gender, if there are enough registrants of different genders, campers will be divided up into similar gender groups for some periods of time.

Martin Aguilera has been involved with multiple cycles and delegations of the U.S. National Team program, and is returning as Head Coach for the 2026 U20 Mixed National Team that will be competing at WJUC in Logroño, Spain on June 20-27, 2026, after having served as Head Coach for the inaugural 2024 U20 Mixed National Team that won a gold medal and the team Spirit award in Birmingham, UK.  Previously, he was head coach of the 2021 WUGC Mixed National Team whose event was ultimately cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and before that for the 2018 U24 Mixed National Team that won gold in Perth, Australia, for the 2015 U24 Mixed National Team that won gold in London, UK, and for the inaugural 2013 U24 Mixed National Team that won gold and team Spirit in Toronto, Canada. He has also coached other high level teams in a variety of age and gender divisions since 2003, including high school (both girls and boys teams at Paideia), youth club (mixed team Atlanta flATLine), college (Emory Luna in the women's division), and club (Atlanta Ozone in the women's division).  Martin started playing ultimate at The Paideia School in 1992, followed by Georgia Tech in the college men's division, and then for multiple teams in the club mixed division, plus one injury-ended season with Chain Lightning in the club men's division.  More recently he played in the masters and grand masters men's divisions with Reckon, including at the 2019 Pan-American Ultimate Championships in Sarasota, FL.
